Interesting trivia and facts about NHCS
Most years, NHCS high school students hold the highest high school SAT score in Rowan County.
NHCS started in 1967 with just twenty-eight kindergarteners and two teachers. Today, as the largest private school in Rowan County, we have approximately twenty-five part and full time teachers and nearly 300 students in grades 3K – 12!
Next year’s high school enrollment is likely to be the
highest it has been in at least a decade, enabling us to offer more
academic and co-curricular opportunities than ever before!
Through partnerships with Catawba College, Rowan
Cabarrus Community College, Davis College, and Seven Star Academy, our high school offers more than sixty honors, Advanced Placement, and dual enrollment college courses.
NHCS high school graduates go to the colleges of their own choosing? Recent graduates have been accepted to Duke University, UNC-Chapel Hill, Furman, Wake Forest University, and other similarly selective institutions. In fact, the school presently has alumni who are on a full ride scholarship to Catawba, enrolled in a PhD program at Duke, and in law school at New York University.
Nearly twenty-five percent of the faculty of NHCS has more than twenty years of experience in the field of education. In fact, the combined total of educational experience of our faculty amounts to nearly 300 years!
