Fine Arts in Junior Kindergarten & Elementary

In the junior kindergarten and kindergarten program, art and music are integrated into the core classroom experience, and students are given ample opportunity for creative expression in the visual arts. The fine arts provide a primary medium for teaching mathematical and phonetic concepts.  Particular focus is given to development of large and fine motor skills and creative expression.

In the elementary school (grades 1 – 5), your child will participate in both a music and a visual arts class each week. Your child will enjoy the opportunity to explore instrumental music using recorders in the elementary school, as well as vocal music. Particular attention is given to teaching elementary students to read music. The visual arts classes provide opportunities for students to explore multiple media.
