Visual Arts

Lower School Art classes focus on enhancing the classical curriculum that the students are experiencing in their classes. In an exciting and innovative approach to art, students construct and create projects that are directly related to what they are learning in the classroom while establishing a strong foundation in the elements of art, priciples of design, and art history.  Students have an opportunity to work with many differenct mediums and art forms, such as sculpture, set design, painting, drawing, and weaving.

The art program at NHCS participates in the annual student art exhibition sponsored by the Waterworks Visual Arts Center. Waterworks, located in Rowan County, is considered a non-collecting art museum. Waterworks strives to be a leader and innovator in the exhibition of art.  We are honored to be involved with this prestigious organization.
